Week 7

This term is flying fast and already we have hit week 7!

Firstly thank you for supporting our shared lunch on Friday which was for our farewell to Matua Q who had been on placement in our syndicate for the past 6 weeks.  We also announce our next lot of students to our Turanganui Leaders group named Tekau Ma Rua.  We hold this group in high regard, these students will be upskilled and developed to not only take on various role of responsibility within our syndicate and school but also to work alongside us teachers.  There are more students to be added throughout the year, hopefully your child will be next.

Year 7 Assembly

Congratulations to Mairangi Campbell & Leena Barnes who were this weeks Year 7 Assembly certificate winners.  Both are wonderful role models inside and outside the classroom.  They get on with what needs to be done and often lend their support to help others.

HAUORA

We continue our Hauora unit has received lots of positive feedback from both students and teachers.   There are 4 parts to the Hauora Unit Physical well-being Taha Tinana     Mental well-being - Taha Hinegaro  Spiritual well-being Taha Wairua    Social well-being Taha Whanau.  If we get the balance with all these dimensions together we get total well being.  Some of the learning that has come out of our daily sessions are, personal goals setting, displaying motivation, taking up challenges, increasing physical well being, linking results to maths, working with a variety of people, using correct techniques & being supportive of different levels of ability to name just a few.
