Thank you to those of you who have booked your place for our learning conferences which start next Tuesday 12th after  school and go through to Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th (we have half a day of school on both of these days).  These conferences are really important as it ensures you are aware of where your child is at for their learning and how we can work together to make sure they achieve their goals for the year.  It is also a nice time just to be able to sit and chat about your child & celebrate the term so far.  if you haven't booked in a time please do so asap, alternatively if you cannot make it (for  whatever reason) I will be happy to drop you a phone call at a convenient time.

Reports for term 1 will be sent home on Friday with your child.  These reports cover Numeracy & Literacy and where your child is in terms of the National Standards.  All this is based on the tests we have completed so far this term and basically gives us a snapshot of your child.  There will also be next learning steps and here we can set goals together.  Please bring this report with you on the day you chosen for conferencing so we can talk about it as well as any other questions you may have.

On friday we head to the museum to learn about ANZAC DAY and soldiers who went to war from the C Company.  Most of us have some connection to this kaupapa and know the importance of sharing these stories with all generations.  Our local museum is a great resource for learning and we really enjoy our sessions there.  To coincide with our visit we will be including our syndicate green card time which is to reward students (who have earnt it) for their outstanding behaviour. A notice will come home tomorrow with more details.

PE UNIFORM - Could you please help to ensure your child has the correct PE uniform everyday.  It has become increasingly noticeable that children are either turning up with no pe gear or incorrect uniform.  Just a reminder your child should wear their Turanganui PE top with plain black shorts (no logos).  If for whatever reason they don't have their gear a note must come from home.  Those students who do not have PE gear will be placed in reflection room.  One of our school values is self management, having your PE gear is all part of practicing this value.
