Rongomai consistently displays the GIS INT values -
Respect, Integrity, Self-Management, Excellence in everything she does. She has a kind and caring nature and is a valued member of Room 24.
Junior is someone I call the 'I can Man'. He always the first person to put his hand up to say "Can I do that or can I help out"? He has already taken up many of the opportunities here at GIS INT and is alway looking for his next challenge.
Also well done to Peti Te Pou & Leena Barnes who were recognised by their classroom peers Hayley & Paige from our Tekau Ma Rua leadership group. Ka mau te wehi korua!
YOGA in Action
This week we were fortunate enough to enjoy a yoga session lead by Morgan Ferguson who was assisted by Rongomai. These two did a fantastic job leading the learning and the class we very receptive to something new (for many). We have decided to continue this each week and some students have also offered to take a session of their own.
PE Program - Our weekly class PE sessions are up and running where we are using the context of Ultimate Frisbee and invasion games to teach students about the skilled games player. The focus is not only on physical skills but also on developing social skills such as contributing & participating as well as thinking skills which include communication & strategies.
