Kia Ora Koutou, Nau Mai Hoki Mai.
I hope everyone had a wonderful break and made the most of the holidays. I can't wait to hear what everyone got up to tomorrow. I managed to get away with my whanau to Rotorua for a couple of nights where we indulged in many of the tourist attractions that it has to offer. Other than that I've been spending time at home recharging the batteries for another busy term ahead.
Thank you to those of you who managed to find time to come to your child's learning conference last term to share their successes, goals & aspirations. As a parent of two children at high school I know how important it is to be in touch with your child's educational journey but more importantly being able to share it together. Please know that our doors are always open, so feel free to pop in anytime. For those of you who didn't manage to get in you are more than welcome to arrange a time this term.
This week I will be sending out some values tasks as some students have been requesting extra things to do at home. These tasks are optional however students will be strongly encouraged to try a couple. Time will be set aside in class for students to present some of their values tasks they have completed throughout the week.
For home learning your child is encouraged to read everyday, complete their mathletics tasks and complete any unfinished work from class. I also encourage all students to purchase a dragon maths book which can be purchased from the office for $15. This is a brilliant resource to support your child at their level and caters for all learning needs both in class and at home.
