Welcome to Week 7, Lots to celebrate and lots going on this week.
Firstly congratulations to Hayley Ahu who was the second person from our class to receive the student of the week.
‘People who shine from within don’t need the spotlight’
Hayley is a beautiful person both inside and out, she displays so many wonderful qualities of a fine leader including her humble nature & her genuine compassion & care for others. Hayley has an abundance of talents including singing, art & kapa haka, She has already been selected for many of our sports teams, representing GIS INT with pride. Each day she displays excellence by striving to be better than the day before. She is a true asset to our whanau in Turanganui!
Well done to Kaia & Riqueal who were our classroom certificate winners this week. Kaia is such a well rounded young man who always displays excellent behaviour, he is a true role model. Riqueal is a caring person who is always supportive of others. She has made improvement with her self management and is really starting to take ownership of her learning.
This week our class will be presenting our speeches starting on Tuesday. We all know how daunting speeches can be so we have tried to make less stressful for everyone. Firstly we changed the name to 'Peaches' to not only take away the stigma but because everyone loves 'Peaches & Ice cream'. We also decided that you could choose to do it as an individual or in a pair. Next we brainstormed all the ways you could do an oral presentation e.g, puppet show, play, demonstration, explaining a science experiment etc.. Many students have opted to do theirs using some of these formats which we are really looking forward to hearing. So if you could please encourage your child to practice at home and give them some feedback that would be great.
We have another busy week ahead, please remember to check out our Turanganui Blog for more details.
